GSS > WORKS > PRÄZISIONSARBEIT (PRECISION WORK)
This work was developed in the context of the exhibition »www.heimat.le«. For the writing »Präzisionsarbeit« we used the font »DIN-Mittelschrift«, that was specially developed for german street signs (»The Autobahn typeface«). The typographer Albert-Jan Pool calls it »the most non-designed typeface ever made«. This font was promoted by FontShop International as follows: »With FF DIN, designers can now use the image and impact of a typeface family relating to items as ›traffic‹, ›engineering‹ and the German ›Wirtschaftswunder‹.« Beyond this, the abbrevation »DIN« stands also for »Deutsches Institut für Normung« (German Institute for Standardization).
